Winston Churchill once wrote that “any man who is under 30, and is not a liberal, has no heart; and any man who is over 30, and is not a conservative, has no brains.” I can’t help but chuckle when I read this quote; it makes me think back to the days when this very idea solidified the democrat’s youngest voting base. I shriek in horror and thank God everyday that this dark time in American history has passed us by. To think there was once a time when the liberal mindset infected the young minds of America is simply mind-boggling to me. As we fix our eyes upon the horizon and begin to speculate about the election of 2008, it is without question the Republican Party will come to see young and new warriors engaged in “The Battle for America.”

The young Republican constituency has three freshly sharpened arrows in their quiver: conviction, influence and determination. These three traits will further inflict massive casualties upon the Democrats and continue to build the young Republican base. As a young Republican myself (not yet of age to vote) I see the shift taking place before my very eyes! It didn’t take long for me to discover the truth behind Conservative ideas, and I assure you, it won’t take me long to tell all of my friends! I hereby officially ring the alarm and give warning to the Democrats; the youth are on the move!

Republicans are often criticized for being traditional value loving morons with no plan to move forward. And as demeaning as that summary sounds, it is often true, but what many people don’t understand is the love for those “non progressive” values is the fuel to our fire. Republicans have what many others wish they had; conviction. It is this attribute that keeps us coming back for more. It is this element of the conservative make-up that allows us to dust ourselves off and fight against all odds. Young Republicans such as myself have conviction beyond that of our parents. We are fortunate enough to grow up in a world where we can look at the mistakes that have already been made. We can see how abandoning what you believe in has been the downfall of many leaders. We are a generation who can see beyond the slanderous lies the main streem media attempts to shove down our throats. But most importantly, it is the conviction that we have in our hearts that gives us the energy to fight to the death.

Conviction has a tendency to bear its head and lend itself to the recruiting process. We all know to even have a shot in this battle; we must have willing troops to fight it. Our young Republican base is in a vital role to change the course of history through the influence we wield. It is evident that there are many people out there that have no clue what is going on. Sean Hannity’s Man on the Street segments go to ordinary Americans and ask them simple questions about our beloved country. More times than not, they don’t even have a clue as to who our Vise President is! This goes to prove how inept our fellow Americans truly are! The young Republican constituency has the power to reach out to their peers and make them informed voters. Fortunately for us, our message makes sense. I pity the fool that has to explain to uninformed Americans why paying more taxes is in their best interest. This is our fight; let’s take it to the streets!

As someone who was devastated at the result of the last election, I must say it gave me a good kick. I have a new found mission. But more importantly I have unrelenting determination to see my party regain power. I am confident that seeds of determination are beginning to grow in the hearts of many other Americans. As we move forward and begin to witness the devastation the Democratic Party will have on this country, I am sure many more people will join me in my fight. Regardless of your age, your race or your social economic standing, I urge you to step up and have a say in your government.

The world is changed one person at a time. You do not have to be 18 to make a difference; you don’t even have to be 16 to make a difference. However, you must have conviction and believe that what we are setting up to do will change our world! Become informed and then inform your friends! Don’t let the Democrats write off your vote as a vote for them, help me take this battle to the streets!
